The shirt: a versatile garment that is always on trend

Updated: Apr 27

Who hasn't worn a shirt at least once?! It works a bit like a superhero's cape, instantly boosting self-confidence and making us feel up to the situation, whatever it may be.

Carefully chosen and appropriately matched and accessorised, we can wear it all day long, to perform various activities, in different environments. For example, a classic, solid-coloured shirt - perhaps white or black, but not only - can be matched with a tailleur or a suit with trousers, in the case of men, for a professional, classic and risk-free look. For a work environment with a less strict dress code, we can choose one in a bolder colour or with different patterns. A less obvious choice adds a creative touch to the overall look and allows us to express our individuality.

Informal date right after work? A colourful scarf, a longer necklace, a pair of oversized earrings instead of the minimal accessories worn in the office or a different jacket, maybe in leather, and we're ready to go!

Its versatility makes it an all-season garment. An original shirt can easily become the main element of an outfit when worn alone in summer. Alternatively, worn under a waistcoat or pullover, paired with skirts, trousers or worn under a pinafore dress or dungarees, it can elevate a mid-season or even winter outfit. Therefore, having a shirt on hand, in our wardrobe, can always prove useful all year round.

The shirt is also a constant in our personal life and evolution. It is an item of clothing associated with important moments and unforgettable memories. Personally, I still remember all the details of the shirt I wore at the presentation of my master's degree thesis and also the one worn for my first job interview. For men, the shirt worn on their wedding day is very important and is chosen very carefully. It almost seems to symbolise evolution, the end of a phase and the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. Perhaps this is the very reason why the shirt is a garment that looks good and can be worn quite naturally at all ages.

From summer linen shirts to winter flannel shirts, from slim fit to oversized shirts, from classic white shirts to bold shirts with geometric, floral, or abstract patterns, and all the options in between, the range is so wide that finding one that is in line with our personality and matches our lifestyle is just a matter of patience and research.
